Betsie Larkin will appear on the Female Stage at ASOT 550 in Den Bosch
Betsie is thrilled and grateful to be a part of this prestigious event. The female state at ASOT 550 will include some of the most respected female vocalists and DJs on one stage. Read the press release below, taken from www.astateoftrance.com, to hear Armin van Buuren's thoughts on the importance of women in dance music.
*****************
We’re only a few weeks into 2012, but Armin van Buuren is already busy working out his new plans and ambitions. Next to the grand A State of Trance 550 world tour kicking off in March, Armin has made it one of his personal goals to get more women to work in the dance industry. The Dutch DJ believes that the future of dance will involve a much bigger female influence. The biggest edition of the A State of Trance tour, taking place on March 31st in the Brabanthallen of Den Bosch, will include a female-only stage. Not just the DJ’s and singers, but also the entire tech crew are female.
Armin explains why he feels that the dance scene of today could really use a more female touch:
”Women have a great taste in music and some can DJ pretty good. I’m still surprised that most of today’s dance music scene is ruled by men only and I’m not the only one sharing that opinion. It’s been a long time frustration that out of the 100 most popular DJ’s, only a few are female. And we all know there’s no atmosphere without women in the crowd! If you scare away the women, you can be pretty sure you’ll scare away the men as well. So I’ve decided to dedicate a whole stage to female DJ’s and artists only. Even the VJ, MC and stage-manager have to be female. You will see this will bring a special atmosphere. It would be a great thing if at least 15% of the DJ MAG top 100 in 2013 are female!”
On March 31st, the premier of the first all female stage will take place at the Brabanthallen, Den Bosch during the A State of Trance 550 world tour 2012.

Betsie Larkin with Sied van Riel - "The Offering" out on Premier
- Extended Mix
- Andy Duguid Remix
- Save The Robot Remix
- Radio Edit
The highly acclaimed debut album "All We Have Is Now" by New York based vocalist and singer/songwriter Betsie Larkin so far saw the single release of the title track (produced by Super8 & Tab) and "The Dream"; a production by John O'Callaghan. Both tracks harvested the support from the big names in the industry and got hammered for weeks. Betsie's brand new single "The Offering", a collaboration with DJ/Producer Sied van Riel, is set to shoot up the charts soon as well.
Betsie enjoyed the process of working with different producers on her album: “It was really fun experiencing all of the different processes for writing. With some we started from one of my older alternative rock songs or I laid down some piano with a vocal and let the producer create music around the idea. I only started from a finished instrumental on one track, which was “The Offering” produced and arranged Sied van Riel."
DJ/Producer Sied van Riel immediately noticed the overwhelming response from his audience when he played "The Offering" in his live sets. Finally the single is available for everyone including remixes by Andy Duguid and Save The Robot.

Album Review by BeatsMedia: "All We Have Is Now"
Reviewed by: Rachel Rixham

The New York based vocalist and singer/songwriter Betsie Larkin, best known for her collaborations with Ferry Corsten on “Made of Love” and “Feel You”, has been working hard to finish her debut album “All We Have Is Now”. The release is finally here. The first single and title track, produced by Finnish duo Super8 & Tab, already sent waves through the dance music community, shooting up the Beatport and Music Week Club charts.
The album “All We Have Is Now” has so much for everyone, with 12 impossibly beautiful tracks that supremely catalogue the outstanding writing skills, and captivating voice of Betsie Larkin. Not to mention it features some very sort after producers, making this album a must have for your CD collections. The first track “The Dream” (original) compiled with the outstanding producer John O’ Callaghan is a great album opener in my opinion. That warm summery-glow melts deep down while Betsie goes on to encapsulate through well-thought easy relating lyrics. Moving on “Stars” strides in with its masculine bassline, dreamy hook, and detailed percussive instruments. A very well produced track by A-lister Ferry Corsten, lifted to the heavens by the vocals which once again shine through immensely. Listen carefully to the lyrics, let yourself connect with Betsie and the true magic will quickly unfold.
Up next “All We Have Is Now” reflects a complicated love-story between two people, a wonderful example of how a little patience and dedication can see you through anything. Super8 & Tab have produced this one, their highly admirable production skills kick in to action throughout. Rich bass meets a thought-provoking melody, washed with succulent lines, and delicate details. I especially enjoyed the gentle whispers around the vocals that seem to soak themselves deep in to your soul. “Obvious” quickly clutches your focus with a dramatic twist, that dramatic twist drops the curtain and Lange steps forward. Lange is a producer I have admired for some time now, you can always trust that when the name Lange is involved, a fresh upbeat bomb is about to present itself, a sure sound that will have your hands praising the skies from start to finish. Rightly so, “Obvious” plunges Betsie in to a seductive vocal mode to suit the seductive hook, beautifully showcasing the hidden depths of Betsie’s talent, a voice that can shape any track, in any tempo, range or genre.
Track five is one of my personal favourites, “Made Of Love” with Rafael Frost, the Made Of Love rework uncovers a delicate rendition that will leave you inevitably shiversome. Generously followed by another gentle melody namely “Breathe You In” conceptualized with reputable producer Solarstone, this track unveils a melancholy composition that soothes, yet emotionally grips as Betsie’s voice gently washes over you. “The Flicker Inside” truly stands out for me, a highly imaginative, and creative track that seems to reflect pure innocence, through mind-wandering recollections, the dreamscaped melody glittering while the enchanted lyrics encourage a meditative state of mind. The pulsing bass draws you in deep while the cloppy percussion and repetitive whispers reflect a heart-felt wish.
Pulling away from the melodically soothing tracks comes the next track “Toys”, produced by the highly acclaimed Vandit artist Giuseppe Ottaviani, his recently released “Go On Air” compilation garnered much praise and support from fans and artists alike. “Toys” raises the tempo and delivers a pleasing, progressive, yet very uplifting theme, containing all the qualities needed to raise the temperature on the dance floor. Betsie once again implements her classic vocals to give this track a life of it’s very own. Swiftly followed by the big banging track, “The Offering”, from the masterful Sied Van Riel, a man who knows how to lay down the basslines, conjuring much respect from everyone who experiences that true Riel progressive sound.
The final three tracks on this supremely articulated album come from producers Bobina, John O’ Callaghan and the upcoming producer Bjorn Akesson, known for his extremely tasteful releases on the FSOE label, and most notably for the track “Painting Pyramids”, which blew the minds of trance fans globally. His track with Betsie goes by the name of “Let It Shine”, a feel good vibe encouraged by the solicitously tender plucked guitar, which goes on to give the overall sound a very delightful Balearic theme. Bobina‘s influence comes with “You Belong To Me” an outstandingly peaceful tune that incorporates luxurious piano pads, and sweet alluring vocals from Betsie. The closing rendition of “The Dream”, the Ambient Mix has been very articulately placed, simply because of it’s impressionable lyrics and awe-inspiring melody, that seemingly fosters Betsie in to the well-deserving limelight on the final curtain call. Betsie certainly has captured my heart throughout this album, with so many lyrically charming storylines, emotional turns and twists, I am honoured to admit that this is by far one of the best albums I have heard come from a vocalist in a long long while. Betsie Larkin is and always will be one of the most noteworthy, original and expressive vocalists that this scene has come to know.
“All We Have Is Now” is now available in all shops and on all known portals.

Betsie Larkin releases brand new single "All We Have Is Now" with Super8 & Tab.
The New York-based singer/songwriter/guitarist Betsie Larkin, best known for her collaborations with Ferry Corsten on "Made of Love" and "Feel You", has been hard at work finishing her upcoming album "All We Have Is Now". Her current single by the same title will be released June 27th.
Betsie's new single is the direct result of an offer that world famous DJ Ferry Corsten made her last year – to release a full album of her original material with the suggestion that she invite her favorite producers to each contribute to one track. Betsie convinced an impressive line-up of ten producers to work on the album, creating a diverse collection tied together by one voice. It won't be long before her new album "All We Have Is Now" will see the light of day.
"All We Have Is Now", the album title, is also the name of her first single and was produced by Super8 &Tab. In this track Betsie shows her ability to write insightful and captivating lyrics: "It's a simple concept, but hard to live by. I wanted to really dive into the meaning of the title in writing the lyrics. I was so happy to have Super8 & Tab at the helm - they are experts at creating the depth and intensity that I felt this tune needed."
"All We Have Is Now" is the perfect track to introduce Betsie Larkin's upcoming album and her multi-faceted talents to a global audience. The original version has been remixed by some of the world's most in-demand remixers like Daniel Wanrooy, Loverush UK! and Soulshaker.

6 April 2011 - Review: Made Event Presents Ferry Corsten - Best Buy Theater, NYC
April 2, 2011
There appeared to be a little something extra buzzing trough the streets of Times Square, New York City this past Saturday night, besides the usual larger than life billboards and out of the ordinary flashing lights. The Best Buy Theater located in the heart of New York City's Times Square showcased "Ferry Corsten Live" on their flashy LED screen posted above a line to see the #9 DJ in the world.
Ferry taking the stage a few minutes past midnight, abruptly shifted the already intense atmosphere into party mode, giving New York just what it was they came for. The four giant crystal chandeliers fully illuminated during some parts of "Made Of Love", a track Mr. Corsten recorded alongside NYC vocalist Betsie Larkin. Larkin who made a surprise live performance alongside Corsten on Saturday may also be seen on the recent release from John O'Callaghan "Unfold".

February 2011 - Bobina & Betsie Larkin, You Belong To Me (Maelstrom)
With the superbly sultry vocals of Betsie Larkin (who sung on Ferry Corsten's 'Made of Love') heating it up, Dmitry's latest track returns Bobina to the centre of the trance-floor.
With its evocative, slow-burn vocals & lyrics and high-wire synths and super-dynamic production, the second single to be taken from his forthcoming long-player made an big impression when Dmitry premiered it on his Russia Goes Clubbing show the other week. Armin van Buuren and Ferry Corsten quickly followed suit and began hammering 'You Belong To Me' on Corsten's Countdown and ASOT, with the former calling it "a smash!!"
It has also begun to hit radio waves apace inside the Federation (being daytime play-listed on both DFM and Radio Record) and a smash of 'Angel of the North' type proportions seems likely!
'You Belong to Me's is available from today on Beatport. You can also check it at YouTube or via Bobina's PromoDJ.ru page. The track will also make its compilation debut on ITWT17 – full details of which are available due west of this position! |
